Up next; our very own Runtime Meal Replacement review! Runtime is a German brand that dedicated their time into making a meal replacement that would not only taste good, but also do good. In collaboration with decorated veteran and physician Dr. Lutz Graumann, who’s dedicated a huge part of life into the study of performance enhancement.
So, what do you get when you cross a nutrition team heavily inspired by the huge impact of eSports, with a knowledgeable and professional physician. Simply; Runtime.
So, what exactly is Runtime anyways? Runtime is a powder based meal that you mix with water or any type of milk in a shaker. Just like a protein shake! However, unlike a protein shake, Runtime’s meal replacements contain other important parts just like any other healthy meal, such as fiber, carbohydrates, fats, minerals and minerals, not just protein.
As for the focus on gamers? Well, for some reason unknown to us the product has become pretty popular with both casual and professional gamers. The brand however has stated that Runtime isn’t solely for gamers, but to anyone who wants to reach peak performance.
Now, enough chit-chat! You probably want to know a bit more about Runtime and what they offer. Luckily for you, that’s exactly what we’re going to do in this Runtime meal replacement review! We’re going to highlight all of their main ingredients, as well as talk about some other important facts you might otherwise miss – but first, let’s answer some popular questions about the brand!
Frequently asked questions
- How many calories does Runtime contain?
Runtime contains 410 calories. We presume, however, that they haven’t included the calories for if it was taken with milk.
- How many flavours does Runtime have?
Runtime has a total of 9 different flavours as of now. Everything from simple vanilla to coffee flavour.
- Is the brand cheap or expensive?
One tub goes for €29.90 and comes with 15 meals. One meal supposedly costs €1.69, which is much cheaper than a usual meal, and much, much healthier than any fast food meal.
So, we’ve discussed that a single meal is going to cost you €1.69, and that a single meal contains 410 calories. Nutrition experts estimate that on average, breakfast should contain 200-400 calories, while lunch and dinner should be around 500-700 each. So at most, a single portion will mostly only cover a full breakfast, or a small lunch.
With that said, Runtime should never completely replace a healthy dinner, or other healthy meals during your day. Runtime could however be a suitable replacement for an already unhealthy meal, or when you don’t have time to buy and/or make a meal, whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner. To make up for lost calories during lunch or dinner, either take two servings, or add something to your meal, like some fruit, a sandwich or some oats.
- Is Runtime FDA-Approved?
The FDA does not approve of any dietary supplements, this includes Runtime. Also, Runtime isn’t based in the US, so the approval of the FDA doesn’t matter to Runtime. However, Runtime does follow EU laws and standards.

Other Ingredients
Runtime contains a secret (or not so secret, considering they are very open about it) ingredient. It’s a new, natural form of carbohydrates called Isomaltulose. It’s a by-product of sugar beet fermentation, and has a much slower effect on blood sugar levels than other types of sugar, such as glucose or fructose, etc. Isomaltulose is a sugar that your body digest much slower, which in-turn means that you can avoid both sugar spikes and crashes.
Isomaltulose has also been proven to provide cognitive enhancements for one’s mood, as well as memory.
Why should you get a Runtime meal replacement?
A quick, healthy, steady and fulfilling meal with a bunch of tasty flavours, with every nutrient a body could possibly need during the day, that also will keep you full until your next meal, at the very least – all wrapped up into a simple, drinkable shake? Let me ask you, why shouldn’t you get some?!
All in all, Runtime’s meal replacements could come in clutch for those of you that want to have a quick meal between games, that won’t leave your body feeling bad afterwards with crashes or an even stronger hunger. Runtime is meant for those that want to achieve peak performance, and nothing else. Like a true gamer, right 😉
We hope you enjoyed this Runtime meal replacement review!
