In this Red Bull review, we’re going to take a deeper dive into this titan of a brand, and highlight everything you need to know about their products. It doesn’t matter if you’ve somehow never heard of them, or have been an avid consumer for years; you might always learn new things that will bring you closer to the brand – or perhaps further away? Who knows?
In this Red Bull review, we’re going to highlight and quickly talk about their ingredients, the brand, their work and where you can get some. Let’s jump right into it!
Frequent questions
To start off, let’s give you some answers to some frequently asked questions about the brand that pops up almost daily. Like:
- Is Red Bull sugar-free?
They have a sugar-free alternative called Red Bull Sugarfree!
- Does Red Bull contain zero calories?
They have a zero calorie alternative as well, called Red Bull Zero.
- Is Red Bull keto friendly?
Only if you drink the sugar-free or calorie-free alternatives.
- Is Red Bull bad for you?
Most studies made on Red Bull have shown that it isn’t a serious hazard to your health. Especially the sugar-free or calorie-free versions. However, the high amount of caffeine can have an impact on people with heart conditions and/or hypertension. We therefore advise to never consume more than 2 cans per day.
The Brand
Red Bull, in more ways than one, is the godfather of energy drinks. Invented in 1984, it took the world by storm, giving – at first – tired workers the energy they needed to complete their shifts. After that, the Red Bull brand began to expand, making its way into the hands of almost everyone. From athletes to students, Red Bull became the drink to pick for anyone that needed some energy during their day.
Other than being the first real energy drink on the market, what else makes Red Bull so popular? The flavour of the original Red Bull has always been a big factor for many. It’s unique taste has become so iconic that, in some cases, whenever something tastes like “an energy drink”, most would actually mean that it tastes like Red Bull. Alongside their original flavour, Red Bull has also produced plenty of other popular variants and flavours. That means that if you didn’t like the original Red Bull for some reason, there are plenty of others to choose from that could hit the spot.
Nowadays, the Red Bull brand has become a part of almost anything extreme or tasking, such as extreme sports, eSports, racing or other talent based interests. Where there is a passion and/or competitiveness, you’ll be damned not to find Red Bull already a part of it.
Review of Red Bull’s ingredients
Time to talk about their ingredients! We will quickly highlight, mainly focusing on the original flavour, as all other variants don’t really differ too much (other than the sugar-free and calorie-free, where there is no sugar). To more easily separate the ingredients, we will also divide them into different headlines – Energy Complex and General Health. Let’s begin!
Energy Complex
- Caffeine (80 mg)
- Sugar (11g per 100 ml)
- Taurine
Every 250 ml can of Red Bull, regardless of flavour or variant, contains a total of 80 mg of caffeine. It’s basically the same amount of caffeine you get out of a cup of coffee. In the non-sugar free versions you’ll also find 11g of sugar per 100 ml, which gives you approximately 27 grams of sugar per 250 ml can. The same amount of sugar could be found in 250 ml of orange or apple juice as well, so it’s not an awful lot. Sugar is a well known carbohydrate, which is a basic nutrient consumed in the daily diet. This means that a can of Red Bull won’t have too much of a negative effect on your health.
General Health
If you’ve never looked at the ingredients of a Red Bull can, you’d be surprised to know that Red Bull actually contains a bunch of B-group vitamins! Namely:
- Niacinamide (Vitamin B3)
- Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5)
- Vitamin B6
- Vitamin B12
These B-group vitamins contribute to your metabolism and normal mental performance, as well as reduce tiredness and fatigue.
Can you get Red Bull in your country?
Red Bull is the leading, most widely distributed energy drink in the world, which means that you can get it almost everywhere. From small corner stores, to gas stations to on-demand deliveries from services like Uber Eats. However, if you live somewhere where the stores don’t offer Red Bull, you can always check online. There could be retailers or shops online that could deliver Red Bull to you in bulk.
Who knows, maybe you could get it from Gamerbulk one day? 😉
That’s it for our Red Bull review! We hope that you’ve appreciated it, and maybe learnt something new about the brand. If you want, you can check out some of our other reviews on our blog.
