Gfuel Review – The Complete Breakdown

GFUEL Review

Energy drinks have become increasingly popular in recent years, with people seeking ways to stay alert and focused throughout the day. But with so many options on the market, it can be difficult to know which one to choose. GFuel is one such energy drink that has been making waves in the industry with its unique formula and delicious flavors.

In this review, we will take a closer look at GFuel to see what sets it apart from the rest. We’ll explore its ingredients, flavor options, and effectiveness to help you determine if it’s the right energy drink for you. So, buckle up and let’s dive into the world of GFuel.

GFuel: A Game-Changing Energy Drink with a Rich History

GFuel was founded in 2004 with the goal of providing a clean and sustainable energy boost to gamers and athletes alike. From its humble beginnings as a small startup, GFuel has since grown into a leading energy drink brand, known for its innovative formula and delicious flavors.

One of the key factors that sets GFuel apart from other energy drinks is its focus on the gaming community. Early on, GFuel recognized the unique needs of gamers and set out to create an energy drink that would support their performance and help them stay focused and alert for long periods of time. This focus on the gaming community has helped GFuel to establish itself as the go-to energy drink for gamers around the world.

Another factor that has contributed to GFuel’s success is its innovative formula. Unlike other energy drinks that rely on high levels of caffeine and sugar, GFuel uses a balanced blend of ingredients to provide a clean and sustainable energy boost. This approach has earned GFuel a reputation as a safe and effective energy drink that supports overall health and wellness.

In recent years, GFuel has continued to evolve and expand, with new flavors and products being added to its lineup. Today, GFuel is widely recognized as a game-changer in the energy drink industry, providing a clean and sustainable energy boost to millions of gamers and athletes around the world.

GFuel’s Big-Name Collaborations: Bringing Gaming and Energy Together

GFuel has made a name for itself in the gaming community by partnering with some of the biggest names in the industry. These collaborations have not only helped to raise the profile of GFuel, but have also allowed the company to offer unique and exciting products to its customers.

One of GFuel’s most high-profile collaborations WAS with the popular gaming and esports organization, FaZe Clan. This collaboration resulted in the creation of the FaZeberry flavor, which quickly became one of GFuel’s most popular offerings. The FaZeberry flavor is a combination of juicy berry flavors that is both delicious and refreshing, making it the perfect choice for gamers who want to stay energized during a long gaming session.

Another collaboration that has helped to put GFuel on the map is its partnership with popular streamer and YouTuber, PewDiePie. This collaboration resulted in the creation of the PewDiePie flavor, which is a blend of green apples and sour candy flavors. The PewDiePie flavor is both sweet and sour, making it a favorite among GFuel fans and PewDiePie fans alike.

GFUEL Ingredients Breakdown

To make this gfuel review breakdown easy, we’ll segment it into 1) flavoring 2) vitamins 2) energy complex 3) focus complex and 4) antioxidant complex. We’ll end with talking about the nutritional value in terms of calories and sugar.

1.     Gfuel Flavoring

Gfuel has so many flavors, 20+ to date and they launch plenty of new flavors each year. Not all their flavors come with natural flavoring though, in fact – it is quite the opposite, most flavors use artificial flavoring to color the powder.

The word artificial has a very negative tone to it when it comes to food & beverage products. Whilst artificial ingredients aren’t necessary bad for you, the rule of thumb should be to never consume it when it is completely unnecessary. And actually, today, using artificial flavoring is very unnecessary. A powder drink is very easily colored with natural coloring such as beta-carotene, beet, chlorophyll etc.

Why do Gfuel then still use artificial flavoring in their products? It could be that the artificial flavoring used is cheaper, or that using artificial ingredients usually means a higher shelf-life on their products and could be the reason why they can have so many flavors in stock. Personally, I’d say it’s unnecessary to still be using artificial flavoring and avoid it as much as I can.

2.      Gfuel Vitamins

The main vitamins included in Gfuel are:

  1. Vitamin C (Absorbic Acid) – 250mg, 278% RDI
  2. Vitamin E (as D-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate) – 10mg, 67% RDI
  3. Vitamin B3 (Niacin) – 15mg, 94% RDI
  4. Vitamin B6 (as Pyridoxine HCI) – 10mg, 588% RDI
  5. Vitamin B12 (as Methylcobalmin), 425mcg, 17708% RDI

Whilst there’s nothing wrong with these vitamins, the only comment we have is the actual quantity of each ingredient. Adding above the RDI (recommended daily intake) is something we’ll never understand. There’s very little scientific coverage on why or even if it is good for you to dose vitamins above the daily recommended set by the FDA.

When it comes to the GFUEL formula it has even gone so far that the product is not allowed in some countries due to the high amount of Vitamin B12 in the product. People rarely gets B12 deficit (usually only happens if you are a Vegan) so it doesn’t really make any sense to be 17708% OVER the daily recommended intake. Especially as it means that their products becomes illegal in some countries such as Norway and Belgium.

3.     Gfuel Energy Complex

The energy complex marketed by Gfuel is taurine, L-Citruline Malate, Caffeine, Glucoronolactone, N-Acetyl-L-Carnitine HCI, Velvet Bean (Mucuna pruriens) Seed Extract.

The term energy is nowadays very loosely used as energy in terms of metabolism means actual calories, so attaching the word “energy” with a calorie free drink is kind off strange, but that’s how most energy drinks are marketed anyways.

In the Gfuel energy complex the we want to lift up caffeine as the main ingredient for enhanced cognitive function. But be aware, we have brought this up in many articles – but caffeine consumption should be very limited for optimal effect. As Gfuel contains 150mg of caffeine in a single dose you should probably not drink it more than 3 times per week when you actually need it. For gaming and studying for example.

If you are a BEAST at the gym, you could probably drink a lot more Gfuel – but if you are using it whilst sitting still, we’d recommended to lower your caffeine intake, or you’ll become very jittery.

The formula also contains taurine which we believe to be unnecessary for a drink targeted towards gamers, as it is only needed for physical activity.

Glucoronolactone is a popular ingredient in energy ingredients. Whilst there’s not so much research on the actual effect the European Food Safety Authority has determined that it isn’t bad for you at least.

N-Acetyl-L-Carnitine HCI is also a popular supplement for detoxing and mental performance.

L-Citruline Malate is a popular supplement as a pre-workout. Why it is in a gamer energy drink we don’t know. For pre-workout the usual dosage is 3g before workout. Seeing that the total energy complex serving is 1.85g it looks like they only added it for marketing purposes. Which is fine by me as it shouldn’t be in the product at all in my opinion.

Like said, the total portion size for these six (6) ingredients are 1.85g. However, how much of each is not stated on the label. The only clue we have is that 150mg of these 1.85 grams is caffeine. It is very easy for a competitor to find out actual ratios so not presenting these numbers only seems that you have something to hide towards your customers.

4.     Gfuel Focus Complex

The focus complex in Gfuel is L-Tyrosine, N-Acetyl-Tyrosine, Adeonsine-5-Triphosphate Disodium Salt (ATP), Toothed Clubmoss Aerial Parts Extracts, Bacoba Lead Extract.

The total portion size of the focus complex is 1g – but again, there’s no number breakdown on each ingredient so it won’t be possible to give a correct review on whether the formula is good or not. Nootropics and Nutrition is all about dosage and honestly, anybody buying Gfuel should definitely first ask the company about doses.

GFUEL FOCUS COMPLEX

5.      Gfuel Antioxidant Complex

Antioxidant is a very trendy marketing word to use for nutritional supplements. However, it is very easy to add something that contains antioxidants – but no one really questions the amount or the effect of these extracts. Antioxidant is a word used for many different compounds and Gfuel does not really jump into actually educating the consumer on why the extracts they use are good or whether the quantity is enough. But here’s what the complex contains; A 163.5 mg mix of Pineapple Fruit Powder, Cabbage Palm Berry Powder, Pomegranate Fruit Extract, Apple Fruit Powder, Orange Fruit Powder, Blueberry Fruit Powder, Grape Seed Powder, Plum Fruit Powder, Raspberry Fruit Powder, Strawberry Fruit Powder, Watermelon Fruit Powder, Lemon Fruit Powder, Lime Fruit Powder, Melon Fruit Powder, Sour Cherry Fruit Powder, Papaya Fruit Powder, Peach Fruit Powder, Pyrus communis Fruit Powder.

At a first glance, the total mix of 163.5mg seems very low for that many extracts, pointing towards the fact that the blast-method of adding so many different fruit powders is more a marketing tool rather than necessary for the complex to be good. With that said, it isn’t bad to add a little bit of antioxidants to your daily beverage!

6.      Overall Nutritional Value in Gfuel

There’s no sugar in Gfuel which is good, and the calorie level is 25 per serving. The calories are from an ingredient called Maltodextrin. Whilst not a sugar, maltodextrin is very high on the GI-index (meaning that it is basically bad for blood sugar just as sugar is). However, the amount is very low and shouldn’t bother you, but the same is for low amount of sugars, which shouldn’t bother you either!

GFuel vs Traditional Energy Drinks: Which is the Better Option?

GFuel and traditional energy drinks like Red Bull and Monster are both designed to provide a quick and convenient energy boost. However, there are some key differences between these two types of energy drinks that are worth considering when choosing which one is right for you.

One of the main differences between GFuel and traditional energy drinks is their ingredients. GFuel is designed to provide a clean and sustainable energy boost, using a balanced blend of caffeine, vitamins, and other natural ingredients. In contrast, traditional energy drinks like Red Bull and Monster often rely on high levels of caffeine and sugar to provide an immediate energy boost, which can lead to jitters, crashes, and other unwanted side effects.

Another difference is the taste and flavor of these drinks. GFuel offers a wide range of delicious and unique flavors, from fruity and refreshing to rich and indulgent. In contrast, traditional energy drinks like Red Bull and Monster often have a bitter and artificial taste, which can be difficult for some people to tolerate.
